A Historic Stay at The Equinox (VT)

The Equinox Golf Resort & Spa is located in beautiful Manchester, Vermont just 45 minutes north of the Massachusetts border and 20 minutes from the New York border.

For a full guide that includes my favorite spots to explore in Manchester, check out my Manchester, Vermont Travel Guide.

The Property

The Equinox is the perfect home base for year-round outdoor adventures! The resort features 195 rooms and offers stunning views of Mount Equinox from the back porch.

The historic space has welcomed many distinguished guests over the years including several Presidents including William Howard Taft, Ulysses S. Grant, Theodore Roosevelt, and Benjamin Harrison.

The Grounds and Rooms

Guests can choose to stay in the main building or opt for a stay in the Charles Orvis Inn next door.

The main building offers traditional style rooms, including some that feature balconies. The first floor of the main building provides several common area rooms and is also where you will find dining options.

The Charles Orvis Inn provides suite style rooms, which have a full kitchen and living room space. The inn also offers common area rooms and a patio area.

On-Site Amenities and Activities

The Equinox is an all in one adventure destination! Guests have access to a trail system that starts right from the property, bikes available to ride into town, and a shuttle service to take you to Equinox Pond for kayaking, fly fishing, and hiking.

The Golf Course

The Equinox is known for its world-class golf course on-site with such breathtaking views that made me wish I was a golfer!

Equinox Pond

Guests can take the shuttle from The Equinox Resort to Equinox pond which is just a short drive away. The pond is perfect for kayaking and fly fishing! The views really could not have been better and it is so peaceful on the pond. You are likely to see wildlife and I saw Loons on the water and even a turtle.

The Equinox Resort has partnered with Orvis Manchester’s Fly Fishing School. The school offers fly fishing lessons that provide everything you need to get started. I had the best fly fishing lesson and my instructor Brendan, was extremely knowledgeable. I learned so much and improved my casting!

The Marsh Tavern & Falcon Bar

The on-site historic Marsh Tavern has been open to visitors since 1769. It’s a great spot for dinner after a day of adventures. Dine inside or pick a spot on the patio for outside dining on warmer days.

The Falcon Bar offers a variety of beverages and an indoor bar area. You can also enjoy drinks out on the patio or by the fire pit taking in the mountain views.

The Spa and Indoor Pool

Make a visit to the on-site spa which offers a variety of treatments.

Enjoy the indoor heated pool which is perfect after a long day of adventuring.

You will also find a 24-hour fitness center here and a yoga studio.
