Location
Top of the Ridge Bed and Breakfast is a boutique bed and breakfast located in New Durham, New Hampshire.
The inn’s website describes the location of the property as “in the middle of everything, away from it all.” The location is perfect for exploring all that the lake region has to offer but is also set in a quiet, peaceful location.

The Property
The inn is located in a quiet, residential area with many nearby farms. It features a large outdoor space with plenty of Adirondack chairs and picnic tables which are perfect for relaxing and taking in the views. There is also a covered porch with outdoor seating for rainy days.
Inside the inn, the first floor features a dining space and several common areas with comfy chairs that look out to the property’s beautiful mountain views.
Dinner
The inn offers dinner which can be reserved in advance of your stay. I pre-ordered a margarita pizza which featured fresh mozzarella and basil. The pizza is an authentic Italian style pizza and is made with homemade dough and crisped to perfection in the outdoor pizza oven. Dinner also came with a fresh mixed greens salad dressed in a fresh vinaigrette. In addition to pizza, guests can pre-order gourmet paninis or enjoy gelato, including specialty sundaes. The inn also offers a full cocktail and drink menu. The Aperol Spritz I chose was made perfectly!
The Guest Rooms
There are a total of four guest rooms to chose from, one bedroom located on the first floor and three bedrooms located on the second floor. The first floor bedroom is a dog friendly room and has direct access to the outside via the deck, which makes it a convenient location if bringing your pup with you for your stay.
I stayed in the Governor Ricker room located on the second floor. The decor in the room is beautiful and it features a queen bed, an electric stove, a mini fridge, and an air conditioning unit. The bathroom is large, with a beautifully designed shower and even a heated towel rack for a full luxury experience.
The room also features a beautiful deck that looks out to the farmland and in the distance, the White Mountains.
Breakfast
Breakfast is included in your stay and it may just be my favorite part of a stay at Top of the Ridge! The beautiful dining space where you will enjoy breakfast is bright and warm and decorated with fresh flowers. The menu is full of amazing options to start the day, it’s so hard to choose! I opted for the pancakes which I would absolutely recommend! They were served with fresh fruit and locally sourced maple syrup. These were seriously the absolute best pancakes that I have ever had! I also had a side of scrambled farm fresh eggs.
And their mugs are so cute! I had to pick one up from the gift shop to take home with me.
The Gift Shop
The inn features an on-site gift shop filled with locally made goodies including jams, maple syrup, and blankets. You will also find the cute mugs here as well as a large selection of dog toys. Of course I had to pick up two toys for my pups at home.
Overall Booking Experience
From the moment I booked my stay online I felt immediately welcomed to the property. I received an email confirmation about my upcoming stay which provided instructions for specifying any allergies or dietary restrictions, ordering dinner, and offering to answer any questions about my stay. When I reached out to book my dinner reservation I received an immediate response with all the details I needed.
The owners are two of the nicest people that I have ever met and I received such a warm welcome when I arrived by the inn’s friendly pup Moose as well.
The owners went above and beyond to make sure I had the best stay! It was such a fabulous experience staying at Top of the Ridge Farm and I cannot wait for my next visit!
